How
to Measure Your Greyhound
Begin by taking a measurement
around the circumference
of dog’s head (1) (at the widest
point), and then around the circumference
of dog’s base of neck (2). Next
run your tape measure around the widest part
of chest which is the girth (3) forming
a complete circle. Then starting from the shoulder
blades, run the tape measure lengthwise to the
base of the tailwhich is the length
(4) (where tail first meets hind quarters).
Holding your position at the shoulder blades,
measure up the neck to the top of the
forehead (5) (about halfway between
the eyes and ears). Then measure from the top
of the chest to belly (where
the legs meet) (6) (at its widest
girth). The last measure should occur from 2” above
foreleg of dog’s front leg elbow across
chest plate to opposite foreleg on the other
side getting the dog’s chest width
(7) (i.e. like you would be measuring
from side to side as like on a car bumper). Please
provide exact measurements only, rounding to
the nearest ½”. Please
